When I was a child in Taiwan, I would go to great lengths to avoid taking a bath - crying, screaming, and even pretending to be dead. It wasn't that I disliked being clean; rather, it was because regular soaps and shampoos would irritate my sensitive skin, leaving it red and uncomfortable. We tried everything, from pharmaceutical brands recommended by dermatologists to naturally-made products, but nothing seemed to work for my skin.

One day, my grandmother brought home Soapberries - the little fruits that indigenous people used to wash with before soap was invented.
